During the month of February, students of the UPS along with the staff sat together to relish their food and enjoy the ambience of eating together. It was a fantastic opportunity for students to have fun in the open playground, for a delicious meal and create wonderful memories in a joyful spirit.
January 2019 marked the Lower Primary School’s “Fun, Run and More” activity where all children participated in an enthusiastic morning race. This activity was a great opportunity to introduce our students to the joys and benefits of physical fitness and team spirit. All the Lower Primary School family which included both the children and the staff displayed fantastic energy throughout the 3-day event. It was a super way to have fun and stay fit and healthy.
Wake Up Wednesday is a weekly radio segment that replaces the mundane power-points with something that’s more motivating and energizing.
It was conceptualized and begun by the SLC heads with a nudge from their English teacher. The topics vary every week and also depends on which department is taking the helm. For example, the first broadcast was taken over by the C&I whose topic of choice was to remind the seniors of their university deadlines and for the younger batches to be prepared earlier. I personally helped with the technical aspects on both broadcast by playing or arranging any media file needed. This project has received mixed reviews, but mostly positive especially from the staff, students, and the head of Senior School herself.
On January 29th of 2019, the entire senior school department (girls) of Thamer International School were invited to watch a performance conducted by the 9th and 10th First Language English students who worked effortlessly for two months to produce a masterpiece that would amaze the crowd. The play was announced to take place in the last two sessions, filling the students up with excitement and anticipation for what was to come.
