Admission
Does my child have to join T.I.S. on a specific date? When will be the first day of school for a new student?
After you have accepted the offer of a place for your child from the Admission Coordinator, you will be invited for an Induction Day Program during the first week of the academic year through which you will be given an orientation about the curriculum followed at school. Students coming from outside the city or country will start as soon as possible after their arrival in Jeddah and as communicated by the admission office.
Does a candidate for admission at T.I.S. have to sit for a placement test?
All candidates for admissions from KG2 to G12 are required to take English, Math and Science placement tests. Further details will be provided by the Admissions Coordinator once a complete set of application papers has been received.
Is the Admission Fee (Opening a file) and Registration Fee refundable?
The Admission Fee (Opening a file) is a non-refundable payment that enables us to cover the administrative costs of the application process. The Registration Fee is an every-year fee and not refundable in any circumstances. Re-entering and re-applying students must also pay the Registration Fee.
Is financial aid available at T.I.S.?
Unfortunately, Thamer International Schools does not offer any financial aid.
Does T.I.S. maintain waiting lists?
Yes, when necessary. As an international school, Thamer International Schools has a continuous turnover of students. This means that when you apply, our classes may be full and we will open a waiting list according to the Admissions Policy for the respective grade level concerned.
What grade will my child be placed in?
Candidates for admission to Thamer International Schools will be placed by age and schools history. Once you have provided the Admissions Office with the date of birth of your child and the intended date of admission, the Admissions Coordinator will confirm the grade. If your child's current placement is different to the one our policy suggests, the Placement Committee will meet to give their recommendation. This decision will be communicated to the parents via the Admissions Coordinator.
