My grandmother’s name is Zarina. She is 64 years old and stays in our native place, Mumbai, in India. My grandmother studied in Kuwait as a kid and was a good swimmer during her school days. She is the eldest among her two brothers and two sisters. She got married at the age of 19 in India and had three children. She took care of her children independently as my grandfather was out of India for work.

Travel has taught me to be open to breaking the norm, to be open to doing things differently from the way other people do them. You don’t have to go where everyone else is going, which is why, last year I decided to go to Haiti.

As I walked through the covers of mist and fog,

    That hide the mountains under.

    Unlike a mother’s warm hug

    It brings fright and wonder.

    It was cold and gray

But for some reason, there was a flower

POINTS TO PONDER My Family - Thamer International Schools

    By Hala Jameel Addas (4-J),

I have 4 brothers big and small some are short and some are tall. My sister's baby is small and fat, he looks adorable when he wears his hat.

My mother cleans and cooks the food and tell us to behave and stop being rude. Our car is cute, her name is cupcake if she ran in the road she would be pancake.

Our garden has alot of trees. With butterflies and buzzing bees. Our house is loud and full of noise. What do you expect with alot of boys? Family means alot.

Points to Ponder - Poem - Thamer International Schools

    By Ahd Ahmed (8-H)

If there is a future there is time for mending - Time to see your troubles coming to an ending.

Life is never hopeless however great your sorrow - If you're looking forward to a new tomorrow.

If there is time for wishing then there is time for hoping - When through doubt and darkness you are blindly groping.

Though your heart be heavy and hurt you may be feeling - If there is time for praying there is time for healing.

    By Fatima Hossam (8-I),

On Wednesday, 6th of March, the Annual Science Fair was held in our school, and we certainly learnt new and interesting facts that we never knew we could experience learning.

The students from middle and high school were divided into groups, and each chose a different topic to demonstrate by doing live and practical experiments. Furthermore, they competed and presented their results in the form of a report, display board, and/or models that they had created.

How to Survive School?! - Thamer International Schools

    By Amira Hazim (8-I)

School is one of the hardest stages in the life of any child, yet it’s the fun part that you’ll miss later. I know that this is nothing like you expected—the amount of homework you get, exams or anything really—but, believe it or not, it’s not as horrible as you think.

Yes, I know that you have taken more than enough terrible school pictures in which you look like an ostrich with braces! And yes, you have this stage where you think that this school thing is getting too monotonous and that it will never end. But, if you really anticipate the life after school to be cool, you are completely mistaken. As time goes on, you have to be more responsible and you are going to have more and more tasks to achieve, so that’s even worse!
