    It’s about time!

    My high school years are coming to an end. Although some people might think that graduating from high school is a tiny chapter in the big book called ‘life’, to me it’s a pretty immense milestone. When I think about the new chapter I am so close to reaching in my life, I get a knot in the pit of my stomach. I come across a lot of different emotions, some of which are fear, sprinkles of nervousness, with a side of excitement and expectation.

    The students of Grades 1 and 3 have recently explored some science topics through one of the most creative and fun means.

    With each grade assigned a surprise topic, they were given material such as play dough, colored papers, glitter and colored pencils. They were then informed of the topic on the spot by their form tutors and were given almost the entire day to work on their projects.

    January 2019 marked the Lower Primary School’s “Fun, Run and More” activity where all children participated in an enthusiastic morning race. This activity was a great opportunity to introduce our students to the joys and benefits of physical fitness and team spirit. All the Lower Primary School family which included both the children and the staff displayed fantastic energy throughout the 3-day event. It was a super way to have fun and stay fit and healthy.

It was a fantastic opportunity for students to have fun in the open playground, for a delicious meal and create wonderful memories in a joyful spirit.

    T.I.S. celebrated the Saudi National Day on Wednesday, September 19th with great zest, channeling its enthusiasm towards Saudi Arabia and its diverse culture.

    The schools’ auditorium was decorated with flags and bright green decorations which represent different regions of KSA. The entire school joined the celebration to get the tribal sensation. Some students came in traditional dresses, green t-shirts, and costumes representing different occupations found in KSA.

    The annual debate is one of the most anticipated events of the year and an academic activity that gives students creative room to express what they feel. The length and breadth of knowledge that they gain through the debate is simply unparalleled. T. I. S. has set the benchmark for conducting activities in such a way that the students not only enjoy but also learn a great deal from it.

    Students of the Upper Primary schools spent some quality educational time in the school's lab. They were engaged in implementing what they had learnt in class about plants - like parts of the plants, their life and how to plant seeds. They also had the opportunity to observe the difference between plant and animal cells. This was an extremely educational experience which the students thoroughly enjoyed.

    Yes, being a part of the student editorial body may seem like a handful; however, it is more than something you just sign up for and toss aside later on.

    We started this newsletter because we want to have a platform where students can utilize their writing skills to have their message heard. We want students to express their creativity and have a place to showcase their crafts. We want students to be up-to-date with news and to be aware of what is going on within the school. We want students to contribute in whatever way they feel most comfortable in, because this newsletter is for the students.

  • Super Bell

    Super Bell - Thamer International Schools

    The students of UPSwill enjoy doing the Super Bell Competitionduring the Science Class.

    The Super Bell presenter will enter the class ringing the Super Bell which tells the teacher to stop explaining the lesson and the students to close their books and start the super bell activity procedure.

    She will choose a student randomly and will ask him/her a question which will be related to the same week’s material.

    On Wednesday, 6th of March, the Annual Science Fair was held in our school, and we certainly learnt new and interesting facts that we never knew we could experience learning.

    The students from middle and high school were divided into groups, and each chose a different topic to demonstrate by doing live and practical experiments. Furthermore, they competed and presented their results in the form of a report, display board, and/or models that they had created.
