Two students of Thamer International School (TIS) have achieved the highest score worldwide, “Top in the World”, in the Cambridge international examinations: Rowaa Ibrahim Ibrahim in the ICT A -level and Abdelrahman Al-Acer in Mathematics AS-level.

H.R.H.Prince Faisal Bin Thamer Bin Abdul Aziz Al-Saud, the chairman of TIS, is very proud and honoured that the Achievements of the Kingdom’s Educational system have made it possible for students to compete worldwide and to score  the highest ranks internationally.

Prince Faisal has also extended his gratitude and appreciation to those who have contributed to the great success of TIS-Jeddah including administrators, teachers and parents. This is not the first time that Thamer International School has achieved such high scores. Thirteen students have scored big in the Cambridge International Examinations, with top marks in various subjects in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia and globally. The students sat for the International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) and AS and A2 examinations at Thamer International School. Mohammed Ayman and Mustafa Amr Nazeih were the top students globally in mathematics and Information and Communication Technology (ICT). Yasmin Ashraf and Toka Tarek were the top students in Saudi Arabia for business studies and mathematics.

The winners have been selected from more than 250 students from age 12 to 16. The winners of this year's competition were adjudged in three different categories: Five winners of "Artistic Excellence," 10 winners of the "Artistic Creativity" and 44 awarded as "The Future Artist." Safeyah Binzagr, a veteran Saudi artist, owner of Darat Safeya Binzagr and the organizer of the contest told Arab New that unfortunately all of the participants come from either private or international schools.

Ammar Anas Alsayed Mohamed Aboagwa secured best across three AS level and was first in Saudi Arabia in math, physics and chemistry. He also topped in the world in AS level math.

Students of Thamer International School have received prestigious awards from Cambridge International Examinations to acknowledge their outstanding performance in the May/June, 2016, Cambridge examination series.

JEDDAH — The Consulate General of Lebanon recently held a ceremony to honor outstanding Lebanese high school students studying in Jeddah. The event was held Friday on the consulate premises in the Basateen district. Consul General Ziad Atallah awarded 116 students from nine schools in Jeddah with certificates of honor and recognition shields. Ali Al-Ayashi, the dean of Diplomatic Corps and the consul general of Yemen attended the ceremony, along with Oman’s Consul General Jumaa Al-Rashidi, Palestine Consul General Mahmoud Al-Asadi, Turkish Consul General Fikret Ozer, other diplomats and a large crowd of Lebanese expatriates as well as the families of the outstanding students. 

Jeddah Chamber of Commerce and Industry's Vice Chairperson Lama Al-Sulaiman presented the awards to secondary school students who performed well in the exams in May and June 2010. Thamer International School (TIS) and Al-Wadi International School continued to maintain a world ranking thanks to their students’ performance in the CIE. TIS had 11 top students in the list of outstanding Cambridge learner awards. 

JEDDAH — British Consul General in Jeddah Mohammed Shokat recently hosted a function on the consulate premises to acknowledge the achievements of 67 students across 15 British curriculum schools in the western region of Saudi Arabia. Parents, school representatives and students celebrated the success of the outstanding learners in the 2015 Cambridge International Examinations series. The function followed similar events in Riyadh and Al-Khobar. Addressing the guests Shokat said, “Education is the key and with the right education all the doors of opportunity open for every one. We are very proud of having a strong education system in the UK. The Cambridge International Examinations is one of the best expose for the United Kingdom.”
