Thamer International Schools have received an official invitation from Dar Al Hekma for the MUN (Model United Nations) conference 2018 – 2019. Hence, it gives us great pleasure to inform you that the administration has decided to give our students of Senior School (Girls’ Section) an opportunity to register for the conference.
Schools on an international level send their students to participate in this conference which is an interesting way of learning about the world. In this era of globalization, being globally aware has become crucial and extremely important. MUN is an exercise in research, public speaking, teamwork and enhances leadership skills which students need throughout their career.
Students can leverage their MUN experience and network to get into college and find jobs. Admission officers and job interviewers look for examples of leadership and experience which a delegate at MUN carries substantial value along with academic results.
Being a diplomatic initiative, the MUN is a great setting where students can try to face their fear of public speaking which supports delegates’ personal growth and triggers self-confidence. Respect and cooperation are the fundamentals of the debate as MUN conferences are diplomatic simulations. It allows every participant to understand how existing international bodies work and the contribution they themselves can make to help solve issues and challenges that affect our planet today.
